The island has earned its reputation as party central of the Caribbean from live music to the hottest deejays and amazing parties are the hallmarks of the party scene on island.

The following will give you a guideline of some of the entertainment spots located on St. Maarten/St. Martin.

 

Night Clubs

St. Maarten nightclubs are equipped with the hottest deejays and latest dance mixes to keep you out on the dance floor all night long.

Tantra Night Club and Sanctuary in Maho, a two story venue that combines Zen and 18th Century ambiance with one of the largest dance floors on St. Maarten/St. Martin. The club hosts international deejays and local deejays regularly.

Le Shore in Cole Bay, another chic venue for music, fun and partying. The musical line up has a more European flair being spun along with a blend of sounds from the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Soggy Dollar Bar in Simpson Bay, originally a yacht crew hangout, has turned into the ideal venue for the island’s ultimate outdoor party.

Sky Beach in Maho is another party spot under the stars. Set in a beach like setting in the sky, this great night spot on the roof of Sonesta Maho Beach Resort is a wonderful spot to hang out and dance the night away.

Prive Hookah and Sky Lounge in Cole Bay is another rooftop nightclub offering great music and tapas/sushi to keep partiers fueled up and ready to dance the night away.

 

Casinos

Where else but St. Maarten can you be on a beautiful Caribbean Island and still enjoy Las Vegas style casinos equipped with all the latest video slot machines, table games and tropical island drinks to keep you busy until morning, and well beyond that. Table games include Baccarat, Poker, Three Card Poker, Caribbean Poker, Texas Hold’em, Roulette, Craps, and Blackjack.

The island’s 14 world class, Vegas style casinos are all located on the Dutch side of the island. The following are a few that we recommend…Jump Up Casino and Diamond Casino are located in Philipsburg on Front Street. Hollywood Casino is located at the Pelican Resort, just up the hill from Simpson Bay. The two more popular casinos are Casino Royale, located at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, and Starz Casino, located in Cupecoy.

 

Beach Bars and Other Spots on Island

Watch the last of the planes fly into Princess Juliana International Airport as the sun sets over the water. Mix with the local characters from all walks of life who share the same passion for great Latin, soul and reggae at the Sunset Beach Bar on Maho Beach, where many travelers begin their night with refreshing tropical island drinks. This is definitely a favorite for locals and visitors alike.

How about taking a ride on a school bus and be part of an unforgettable bar hopping experience? Da Party Bus, a vibrantly transformed school bus decked out in whimsical and artsy Caribbean colors and even has an attached Creole house. Or take Rooster’s Party Bus, an open top double decker London bus, fully loaded with a DJ and bartender. On Wednesday and Friday nights, they have a bar hopping party from Philipsburg to Maho with stops at 3 bars along the way.

If into Karaoke, the top spot to spend the night singing away to your favorite tunes is Topper’s Restaurant in Simpson Bay. The karaoke master is there nightly along with the best and worst bathroom singers, so belt out those tunes without any cares in the world!

The Buccaneer Bar located on Kim Sha Beach next to the Atrium Hotel in Simpson Bay is also a great spot to see the sun set over the ocean. This is a popular spot for American visitors.

Taloula Mango’s at the St. Rose Arcade on the boardwalk in Philipsburg offers lunch, dinner, drinks and live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings. Actually, the boardwalk is always nice for an early evening stroll any night of the week. Friday evenings are great at the boardwalk in Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch side.

Sopranos Piano Bar located at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort or The Red Piano Bar, located at Simpson Bay Royal Resort, are the perfect spots to enjoy an after dinner drink to get the night started. Famous for live music and a great selection of spirits. Featured pianists keep the crowd happy by playing various tunes (old & new). These two spots are open every evening starting at 10:00 PM.

Cheri’s café located at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, has long been a favorite for locals and visitors alike since 1988. Cheri’s offers live music 6 nights a week and is a great hangout at this always-percolating open-air lounge. The house band, Sweet Chocolate, will have you up and dancing in no time!

Don’t forget the Maho Village is a great place with a casino, nightclub, piano bar, ice cream parlor, restaurants and a variety of shops that are open late into the evening.

If you enjoy calypso and reggae music along with the island’s freshest seafood at very reasonable prices, head over to Lee’s Deep Sea Fishing and Roadside Grill, located before the Simpson Bay Bridge. Live music is offered here every night! Swing to the rhythms of Caribbean music while enjoying a great meal!
