10 Things to do during your vacation on St Martin with the kids
St Martin is a great island to vacation with your kids. There are plenty of activities to enjoy and fun days to plan! Here are a few of our favorites, but don’t hesitate to call our concierge for more information or more ideas!
1. Parrotville – Located in Belvedere, Parrotville is a bird park with many different species of parrots that will come right to you and happily eat the seeds provided by the bird park. Kids of all ages will enjoy spotting the different colored parrots.
2. Carousel and Ice Cream parlor – who does not love ice cream on a hot day! Many many flavors to try including different tropical fruits! And of course, the carousel….
3. Buccanneer on Fridays – Beach bar and restaurant in Simpson Bay. It is a great place every day, but extra special on Fridays with live music and a PG friendly film on display.
4. Rhino Safari – A Rhino is a cross between a jetski and a boat, which takes you on a fun and bumpy ride to Creole Rock for snorkelling.
5. Plane watching – Some prefer the Sunset bar, others the Driftwood bar, but both bars in Maho enjoy an amazing view on the planes landing and taking off which the kids will definately enjoy! Quick warning though…. do not stand behind the planes at take off as this is very dangerous….
6. Snorkeling – Grab one of those laminated cards showing you which types of fishes you may see and forget to look at it while you stare mesmorized at the brightly colored fishes swimming beside you.
7. Beach day – There are 37 beaches to choose from. Some are quiet, some are rough, some are easy to find and some require a bit of a hike…. Let us know your favorite one!
8. Hiking to Happy Bay – A 15 minute walk from the parking lot off of the entrance of Friar’s Bay, this postcard worthy beach is “clothing optional” and well worth the walk!
9. Fort Louis – We cannot call this a hike as it is a 10 minute walk up to the fort that overlooks Marigot and the ocean. Beautiful views are assured!
10. Sea Side Nature Park – Located in Colebay, the Sea Side Nature Park offers horse back riding on the beach, and a petting zoo for the younger members of the family.
