Our Top 8 SXM Beaches

Our Top 8 SXM Beaches

These are our favorite beaches on St Martin…

Mullet Bay – Mullet Bay is a long time favorite of a lot a people. Sint Maarteners and tourists alike love this beautiful beach located in the golf course of Sint Maarten. There are beach chairs and umbrella to rent as well as 2 lolos – Rosie’s and Daleo’s – with great BBQ ribs.

Orient Bay – Known as the St Tropez of the Caribbean, Orient Bay is the home of many beachside restaurants like Kkao, Bikini or Kontiki and restaurants on the “place du village” like Coté Plage, Sao, Le Piment and many others. Watersport activities are available on Orient Bay.

Happy Bay – a short hike away – we do recommend a good pair of sneakers – lies the amazing, pristine beach of Happy Bay. You can access Happy Bay by boat as well. This postcard ready beach offers white sand, transparent waters and practically no one around. Be aware, Happy Bay is clothing optional.

Petite Plage – If you have young children with you, Petite Plage is a fantastic option for a beach day. Calm pristine waters and white sands will welcome you at Petite Plage beach.

With the Grand Case Beach Club right by the beach, I recommend renting lounge chairs and making a reservation at the restaurant which will allow you to use bathroom facilities. This is one of my personal favorite. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Maho – This is a world famous beach. The planes landing and taking off from Princess Juliana airport are definately the major attraction of Maho beach. As such, it is not a quiet beach. The Sunset Beach bar or the Driftwood Beach Bar, on either side of the beach – are the best places to watch. Please do not stand right behind the planes as it is very dangerous.

There are lots of photos and videos on the internet of this particular spot! Send us your best ones to be featured on our Facebook and Instagram!

Friar’s Bay – This French Side beach is home to the Friar’s Bay Beach Café and Kali’s Beach Bar. Bring your snorkeling gear to explore both sides of the beach, with many colored fishes, and maybe a stingray or a turtle.

Simpson Bay – Many properties line this gorgeous beach, from small appartment residences to large homes. This long stretch of white sand – the longuest beach of Sint Maarten Dutch Side – running alongside the Princess

Juliana airport also hosts restaurants and bars. Linking Beacon Hill to the Simpson Bay area, this beach is perfect for a long romantic stroll at sunset time.

Plum Bay – One of the most beautiful beach of the french side St Martin, Plum Bay – also known as Baie aux Prunes in French – is lined by many beautiful villas of the Terres Basses. Take a walk on the beach to peak at these unbelievable properties or just relax and enjoy the sunset on the beach.
